Code the Market: Python Notebooks for Financial Prototyping

€2

A small collection of hands-on Jupyter notebooks where you explore, test, and play with financial ideas — from stock data to volatility (VIX), forecasting, and even a bit of chaos theory.

These aren't polished courses or plug-and-play strategies. They're freestyle experiments, written in Python, showing the messy but fun process of testing market ideas. Perfect if you're a newbie into data, finance, and figuring things out by coding.

What’s inside:

  • Stock data exploration using pandas and yfinance
  • VIX analysis with stats, wavelets, Monte Carlo, and more
  • Time series tools like ARIMA, Bayesian modeling, Kalman filters
  • Experiments with randomness, chaos systems, and fractals (some of them are very naive probably you guys can modify them)
  • Plots, models, code snippets — everything in Jupyter notebooks

You’ll need some Python skills and curiosity. If you like thinking with code and enjoy prototyping weird or interesting market ideas, you’ll probably have fun here.

Why it matters
These notebooks are just a "brain dump" – they’re a sandbox to explore, visualize, test, and build your own financial models and hypotheses. Perfect for:

  • Beginners which want to researcher or exploring new strategies from other angles
  • Python learners wanting hands-on experience with finance and time-series methods
  • Anyone who prefers interactive, reproducible work over black‑box software

What’s needed to run them

  • Open the files in: https://colab.research.google.com/ OR
  • Jupyter Notebook or JupyterLab somewhere installed
  • Used dependencies: yfinance, pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, pywavelets, statsmodels, pymc3, among others (see requirements.txt)

How to use
Download the .zip file and launch the notebooks (in the environemnts mentioned above), and dive in. Each notebook is self-contained, and ready for your own data — just replace Ticker symbols or data inputs and start exploring. If you encounter error you may use Gemini from Google Collab to fix them.

Who it's for
These notebooks are for beginners who want to run and tweak things that cover volatility, chaos, forecasting, and more. These notebooks give you the sandbox to start from.
